Established in 1983, Government Polytechnic College, Kothamangalam (GPTC Kothamangalam) is a premier technical institution under the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and is located at Chelad in Ernakulam District.

Spread across a serene 13-acre campus, the college provides state-of-the-art infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, digital classrooms, and experienced faculty members dedicated to imparting quality technical education. Departments and Programmes

The college functions under the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, and is affiliated with the State Board of Technical Education, Kerala. It offers diploma programmes in major branches of engineering and technology, with an intake capacity of 60 students in each discipline — Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Computer Engineering. All programmes are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and are designed to provide a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in line with modern industrial and societal needs.
